State GOP Chair: RLC-MI Endorses Hoogendyk
The RLC-MI has endorsed Jack Hoogendyk for the position of Michigan Republican Party Chairman. As Jack’s website puts it:
“We need to unify the party around the core principles that define who we are as Republicans. The Number One priority is reducing the size of government.”
Jack’s Number One priority is completely in-line with the RLC-MI’s principles, which state (in part), “The Republican Liberty Caucus supports individual rights, limited government and free enterprise.”
While a close scrutiny of Jack’s House record may reveal votes that RLCers think contradict this priority (i.e., this belief in limited government), Jack is not running against the (hypothetical) perfect candidate. Jack’s opponents have some fine qualities. However, the RLC-MI believes that Jack will best work for its causes, as well as generally make the Michigan GOP more welcoming of libertarians and like-minded individuals. As such, we are pleased to endorse him.
