State legislator rankings

Background

The RLC-MI ranks state legislators on votes affecting economic and personal liberties.  Examples of economic votes include ones on tax increases and on subsidies.  Examples of personal liberty votes include ones to make it harder to buy alcohol and to implement REAL ID.  Details of the votes used may be found in the underlying data.

The rankings

State legislators are plotted on the following charts.  The scales are the same as on the federal chart (state command and control of the economy on the left to more laissez faire on the right, less recognition of personal liberties at the bottom to more–or even expansion of them–at the top).
